He later received a Master of Arts in Art degree from the same university and completed a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics and sculpture at Washington State University. He has exhibited his work, given workshops in ceramics, and lectured internationally. He is represented in over 40 public as well as numerous private collections. His work is pictured in many books on ceramics as well as periodicals in the field.He has taught at colleges and universities on the west coast and in the Midwest since 1973. His work addresses common issues in contemporary society; experiences and emotions that we all experience on our journey through life. He examines the mundane and commonplace and presents the viewer with a pictorial image that we can all relate to, sometimes positive and sometimes negative depending on the viewer's own personal experiences.
