This is a super quart size stoneware pottery bottle from the mid 1800s stamped "DAVIS & O'HARA'S UJIJI NECTAR" in cobalt blue letters. I can find nothing about the company or another bottle like this...to me that makes it kind of rare. The only information I could find is : Probably a british company Davis & Ohara. The sleepy town of Tabora, in the hinterland of western Tanzania, remains a key transit point in the country. The Central Line railway branches at Tabora to both Kigoma and Mwanza, and visitors traveling by train often use Tabora as a stopover point during their journeys. The regions and large jerry cans and bottles of the famous nectar can be bought in the village market. Tabora is near Ujiji and the article speaks of a nectar being sold. Historically, Tabora was once a major trading point and stopover for caravans that connected Lake Tanganyika and Central Africa with the coastal town of Bagamoyo to the northeast. That's about all I can find..the bottle is 9" tall..3 1/2" on the bottom...and 13" around at the shoulder. ..with one tiny chip on the lip and holds exactly 1 quart. I'm starting way less than where it should go. Check the pictures and bid if you like it. Also listing a stoneware bottle that came out of Blacksburg, VA..check it out.
