It was the first magazine devoted solely to science fiction. Before Amazing, science fiction stories had made regular appearances in other magazines, including some published by Gernsback, but Amazing helped define and launch a new genre of pulp fiction. OUTSIDE CONDITION: Bright vivid color on cover. A couple light catching spots. Back has soiling & chipping along edges. The mistaken volume # on the spine "11" has ben corrected in small pen to the correct # "12" INSIDE CONDITION: THE BAD NEWS: The 1st four pages have a large 2 inch (approx.) chunk torn out from the center right reading edges. MISSING CONTENT: A portion of 2 ads. Some information on the upcoming issue. (Table of Contents is still intact.) Weight in Chemistry The intro, the Morey illustration and portions of two paragraphs of "The Valley of Titans."
