Antique Dovetailed Walnut Sliding Lid CANDLE BOX From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this Large Primitive Hand Made Wood CANDLE BOX. Measuring 14 5/8" long x 5 ¾" wide and 3 3/8" tall this is a wonderful example of early craftsmanship with dovetail or rabbeted edges as shown. I believe this is made of walnut but please buy it for what you think it is because I'm not certain about the type of wood. The top slides on and off easily and this is in excellent condition other than a couple of very minor age check marks. The only thing worth mentioning, and shown in detail below, is that t are two nails obviously added at a later date on the bottom.
