This is a Flying Eagle Post Office Box Bank circa. 1906. There is a sunburst in the background behind the Eagle. This door is made of cast brass with a black enamel finish. It has been lightly buffed and sprayed with a clear lacquer. I think these doors are among the nicest looking of all the doors. This door is pictured on page R 184 in Jane H. Ingram's "An Illustrated Guide To Post Office Lockbox Doors" Second Edition. This is door #5. The combination will be provided to the buyer. All dials operate smoothly. The coin slot on top reads "Created From Original United States Post Office Lockboxes." The glass is in excellent condition. The back of the bank has the same "double edge" routing as is on the front. The bank is made from solid 3/4" red oak. A coat of Minwax wood conditioner is applied. It is then stained with a Minwax golden oak stain. Four coats of Minwax polyurethane clear satin is applied inside and out. The bank has four felt "feet" on the bottom to protect furniture. This bank is of heirloom quality. The Bank measures 6-1/4" high X 5" wide X 4-1/4" deep. I ship to the US only. Alaska and Hawaii included.
