For sale here is a nice post US Civil War Indian Wars M1874 Pattern Soldiers Waist Belt. The belt is complete with brass catch and hook. The belt is made of black leather. The brass components show heavy age and patina. The black leather is supple and strong, and looks good, but it does have some surface finish loss and crazing. That said, this piece is strong. The brass catch is marked with the letter F, and the leather is marked with an inspector stamp of A.K.G. behind the catch. The belt is approximately 42" long including the catch and the hook. The belt is 1 7/8" wide.
