from Colombia, late 18th century, the first pair with foliate motifs and embossed horse heads on the sides (11 in. long) (attractive earthen patina with brassy high points); the second pair are plain save for raised molded lines imitating leather straps (12 in. long) (deep original patina).Provenance: From the Personal Collection of Dr. Bernard J.
