2 Antique Ox Bone Finest Quality 5" Cased Brushes One of 2 pairs of matching ox bone brushes (1 pair cased) currently listed.This is a pair (2) of very fine quality natural ox bone clothes brushes in their original quality fitted leather case, made in England (probably by Kent, etc) & with matching monograms, & dating to around the early part of the 20th century.Each brush has been carved from a piece of solid bone, with concave sides & rounded ends, and with the bristles being pegged in at one end.The top of each brush has an intertwined monogram & the pegged end is marked Made in England.The brushes come in their fitted travel case, which is made from a fine quality leather & finished in a smooth mottled effect, with a leather covered buckle fastening. The interior is leather lined & bears a retailers paper label for Frazer & Green Ltd (the case came with a KENT LONDON comb, although this isn't ox bone, but is included).The case is extremely good, with fine stitching, & the brushes have a lovely grain & good bristles, with absolutely no damage or hairlines to the bone, & only some light discoloration commensurate with age & material - please see all photos.Each brush measures approx 5" long & 2 3/4" wide (approx 12.8cm x 7cm) & they have a combined weight of 375g (excluding the case).Combined shipping on multiple lots where possible.
