This auction is for TWO victorian aesthetic brown transferware 7 1/4" plates is excellent condition with no chips or cracks (one shows a small area of age crazing, which does not detract). They are finely detailed and brightly colored with hand painted polychrome in a wide range of earthtones. This "Mandarin" pattern (Thomas Furnival & Sons 1884 Staffordshire England) with geometric & floral designed border shows it's oriental influence with a central urn featuring Japanesque florals as well as 5 flying insects!
