A very fine pair of mid 18th century French cast brass candlesticks. They're of seamed construction and very heavy, with fluted candle cups and stems, and with scalloped stepped bases. The stems screw into the bases with coarse threads, with the undersides of the bases being completely hand finished and showing evidence of silvering. They measure 10 1/4" tall and are in superb condition with just expected signs of normal wear. The stems are tight to the bases and both sticks stand straight. A beautiful pair of early candlesticks b eing offered with no reserve.
