GOOD PAINTED APOTHECARY CHEST.American, 1st half-19th century, pine. Thirty beaded edge dovetailed drawers with original blue paint exhibiting a desirable surface. 36"h. 45 1/2"w. 9 1/4"d.Condition: Drawers have later nailed reinforcement (square nails). Probably sat on a counter against the wall as there is no evidence of ever having any backboards, but also hung at some point as it does have bracket scars on the top board. Knobs are original with old or original brown paint. Top has blue paint but a later dark stain (still old). Blue paint is very old, white undercoat possibly a primer. Evidence on two drawer fronts of painted-over paper labels (middle column, bottom two); one label beginning to crack.Garths can not ship this item.
