This fairly obscure Oscar Peterson LP is unusual for the all-star septet (which includes altoist Benny Carter , flugelhornist Clark Terry , Zoot Sims on tenor, vibraphonist Milt Jackson , bassist John Heard and drummer Grady Tate ) plays pianist Peterson's score from the film The Silent Partner . Although none of the eight themes caught on independently, the rather distinctive playing of the great stylists (along with the swinging rhythm section) makes the music stand alone from the movie.
