Soft and peaceful woodland setting, original artwork in chalk or pastel? (I am NOT an art expert so please ask questions!) I collect, then sell, purchasing from estates, and this is one of my favorites. I cannot see a signature on this piece. I'm wondering if it is part of a tryptic? Anyway, it is visually breathtaking and very well done, I think. And it is in a beautiful Victorian floral gilded gesso wood frame, in excellent condition and has the patina expected from an antique frame.Please see photos! Frame measures 10.5 inches wide and 18 3/4 inches tall. Artwork is 7 inches wide and 15 inches tall.There is no staining or foxing on the artwork, and there are no missing pieces or chips in the gesso flowers, but there is minimal rub marks and paint loss around the outside edges of the corners.
