A rare find-- this is THE ORIGINAL painting used for the Lindberg Diamond Duster concept car show car that was issued in the late sixties or early seventies, I believe 1972, not sure-- and painted by the reknown artist John Steel, who painted for Revell, Aurora and Lindberg, among others.Condition is near mint shape, as it has been in a humidity and temperature controlled warehouse most of the past 40 years, not exposed to light. Colors are bright and vivid, like the day it was painted. Original model kit box art is extremely rare, even among vintage illustrations in general because it was seldom released to the public, and most was destroyed after the box tops were printed. This painting measure a huge 32" by 23", larger than most because the model kit itself was huge, 1/12 scale I believe. I included some other illustrations of this kit just for reference.
