Up for auction is a beautiful and pristine Old glaze, matte "White" Mug by Peter's Pottery of Mound Bayou, MS.Bayou, MS. This glaze has been retired by Peters for some time as he no longer makes matte glazed wares - he has switched to very glossy glazes. This piece of pottery was made somewhere around 15-20 years ago, can tell due to glaze and old clay. Peter worked for the McCarty's (Merigold, MS) for many years before opening his own studio. Peter's pottery is valued in MS and surrounding states.This gem is 4.5" tall and 3.5" across. The handle feels good in hand as it fits well in hand. A rare and great find! Made with older clay and signed/incised on bottom. MINT - NO flaws at all. No coffee stains!
