This is an old majolica tobacco jar measuring 7.5" high.Featuring a very European looking gent (looks French to me) with droopy eyes, a lined face and full dark moustache and eyebrows. He wears a hat with a feather at the top.Inside of lid is lined with cork. I have counted five paint flakes (four pin head sized and one larger one on his cap ~ see photo of him facing left). T is also a shallow surface chip on the underside of the feather (please see close up). Origin and age is unknown as t are no markings. Safe to say it is pre 1950's.Displays very nicely!
