Classic Northwood Glass Palm and Scroll Aqua Green Opalescent 8-Ruffled and 3-Footed (Roman Scrolled) Glass Bowl Approximate Dimensions: 8�"(Diameter) x 4 " (High) Made by Harry C. Northwood Glass Company Wheeling, West Virginia ca 1905-1908 Source : Heacock, William, James Measell, & Berry Wiggins (1991), Harry Northwood: The Wheeling Years 1901-1925. Antique Publications: Marietta, OH. This is a wonderful, antique " Palm and Scroll " ruffled, green opalescent glass bowl made by the Harry C. Northwood Glass Company circa 1905-1908.The coloring on this bowl is phenomenal. It has an aqua, very soft, pastel-like opalescence tone.The bowl features three "Roman-Scrolled" feet, much like the ones seen on Northwood's Louix XIV and Jackson Klondyke bowls. {Photo taken outdoors with no flash.} {Photo taken outdoors with no flash} Very BriefBackground on Northwood & Dugan. Thomas Dugan and his cousin, Harry C. Northwood, started out in the 1880s as employees at the Hobbs-Brockunier Glass firm in Wheeling, West Virginia. Eventually, Harry would form the Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia and Thomas would form the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pennsylvania .
