If you are adding quality pieces of stoneware to your collection this year, is a wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Tabletop Churn made and stamped by the New York Stoneware Co. This is the mark of George A. Satterlee and Michael Mory who founded this company in Ford Edward NY and ran it from 1859-1885 This beauty features a clear maker's mark and an attractive Blue Bird on a Branch decoration. The form is as great as the decoration, being a small churn used to make butter on a tabletop. Great for the 19th century "empty-nest" crowd that no longer needed a lot of butter! Stands 11.5" tall. Excellent Condition . A 1/4" and 1/2" flat flake on the inside of the outer rim and even wear on the inner rim w a lid sat. A flat chip and faint, tight 6" hairline on the bottom as shown in the closeup (2 o'clock). No outer rim chips, cracks, stains, or repairs.
