On offer is a medallion commemorating the centenary of Nelson's death in 1805. The medallion was struck with copper from Nelson's flagship the Victory The front has an image of the Victory and the date 1805, The reverse reads: FROM B.F.S.S. CONTAINING VICTORY COPPER E.R. VII. brooch. Condition is good; it's all intact, along with a presentation box, which says made from copper from Nelson's flagship and thank you from the British and Foreign Sailors Society on whose behalf it was presumabley sold. The label on the base of the box says patronized by King George V, the Queen and Queen Alexandra, so presumably this one was sold around 1910-14. Dimensions are about 4.0 x 3.0 cm.
