Beautiful Mahogany Eastlake Fireplace Mantle circa 1870 Final Listing! This extraordinary mantle was installed as part of a "remodel" after the end of the Civil War on a plantation/farm in East Tennessee . This is an outstanding example of the Charles Eastlake style which was extremely popular in the mid to late 1800s. Combining detailed scrolling, dentil molding, and beautifully carved mahogany and red oak it is in outstanding, near mint, condition and a commanding feature for any room. It also contains the original non-restored beveled mirror. This beautiful antique creates an artistic focus for your home. This mantle is a rare find and a must have for any collector of Victorian architecture and elegant Eastlake pieces. It has been "informally" valued between $7,000 and $12,000 by three separate experts in 19th Century antiques because of its unique design and extraordinary condition. Dimensions: 68.5" wide, 87.5" tall and 8.5" deep, firebox opening: 38.75" wide by 33" tall. (Two small imperfections detailed in photos.) Because of the construction material this is an extremely heavy piece and, although listed as local pickup only, arraignments may be made with seller to ship at buyer's expense.
