Listing Information Tachini Drums offers these premium 8 inch diameter by 2 inch depth Native American Indian drums with elk rawhide head and lacing on a round birch wooden frame. The handcrafted frame is 3/8 inch thick birch wood with applications of wax for protection. Its total weight is about 12 ounces making it very light for long extended playing. These drums have exceptionally great sound for their size and would be great for ceremonial use, drum circle, a child's drum or as home decor. Handcrafted by a master Salish/Navajo drum maker with 20 years experience and thousands of drums made. Satisfaction guarantee. Pay the full retail price through our website and recieve free shipping (for us, canada, and mexico addresses only). Additional Information We use our own handcrafted round birch wood frames. The circle is an important symbol in Native American cultures. For this reason and for the strength and druability it offers we use and recommend round frames. Round frames distribute the tension of the rawhide evenly while multi-angle/multi-sided drum frames have great stress on the corners which can result in a tear if not handled carefully. Pictured is a 16 inch fringed beater/drum stick which can be added for an additional $40 (use the Add to cart button or add $40 to your payment). Beaters are handmade using natural materials read more
