Very nice 11in by 2 in hand drum with synthetic head that has art by Haida artist Clarence A . Wells. It is red, white and black design of an eagle in flight with two whales and a salmon. Beautiful but somewhat faded. Nice addition to a collection of Native drums.A hand drum by Clarence A. Wells ( -1950), a noted Native American artist from the American Northwest in the Tsimpshian Port Simpson Tribe. Work depicts a n eagle in flight with pair of whales and a salmon in the graphic Haida style. The red, black, and white hues that make up the bird and mammals are attractively contrasted by the natural coloring of the drum. Title and signature present along edge.
