This specimen may be small, but it's uniquely beautiful. The pastels of these tourmaline crystals are not as eye-catching as the darker hues, but these colors bring to mind spring with its abundance of softer colors. This specimen has rubellite tourmalines; they are dark pink crystals at their base then transition to lighter pinks along the length of the crystals. Capping off the transparent crystals is white (colorless actually). One tourmaline is a true watermelon tourmaline. The base is pink, the middle is white, and the cap is green. One tourmaline caps of a white crystal with a sky blue cap, Others, are all white with just a hint of green. Sparkling on the specimen's bottom is soft purple lepidolite. The matrix rock is feldspar. Mawi, Laghman, Nuristan Province, Afghanistan is the origin of this specimen. It weighs 75 grams and has dimensions of 6 cm x 5.5 cm x 2.75 cm.
