Opium and Morphine Pharmacy Bottles These two items are from different centuries. The stoppered bottle is a 19th century/Victorian entity and the amber screwtop dates at latest from the 1ate 50s. Hypodermic tablets for intramuscular, IV and subcutaneous injection have not been used regularly for fifty years.Lingham's Cholera Mixture bottle measures 5 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. It's a three part mold with bubbles and clear seams, marked on the base with W T Co and a 'C'. The 'C' designates the bottle type and the other initials stand for Whitall Tatum Company, a very large pharmacy goods supplier.The hypodermic tablet bottle markings on the base are of unknown significance except for the 2 oz mark. It is nearly 4 inches tall.It's interesting that the contents of each bottle are given as apothecary system strengths given in GRAINS. A 1/4 GRAIN equals about 15 mg.
