This bayonet was made during WWII. It is a spike bayonet for the #4 Mk II Enfield rifle. The bayonet was made by Baird Engineering Co. The markings say No 4 Mk II BEC N96 and the proof marks to the right. The stamping and markings are the clearest I have in stock. This Mk II bayonet was one of the lowest produced during WWII with only 75,000 produced. The bayonet is in near mint to mint un-issued condition with 99% of the finish on the socket head and 99% finish on the spike. The scabbard is un-issued condition with 99-100% of the finish. The item comes with a post WWII canvas frog with the date of 1953.
