Mintons, Ltd - Circa 1890"SUNFLOWER & FLORA"- Antique * Aesthetic Movement * Transfer Print -What a wonderful example of an Aesthetic Movement treatment of these five floral vignettes, spilling from within rectangular frames, with "cracked ice" and swirling line backgrounds. A very Victorian transfer print, which completely fills the tile space.Condition: Excellent. An expertly printed, thick and heavy, hearth tile, made from hardy, heat tolerant, buff clay. The tile displays tiny edge nibbles of its glaze, caused by this tile being part of an English fireplace, where it sat in a cast iron frame.Verso is clean, but displays residual smoke stains.
