Pleasecheck out my feedback and . (And please check out the other beautiful pots that I have on eBay.) You are bidding on a soda-fired yunomi by master potter Michael Simon. (It was included in Michael Simon's only ever New York solo exhibition at the Clay Art Center in 2001.) DESCRIPTION: This winning tea cup sits upon a toasty orange foot ring and has a beautifully proportioned, gently rounded bowl. The exterior is glazed with two thick bands- one dark tan, the other ivory. These serve as the backdrop for two pairs of artfully executed incised leaves with minty green highlights. The yunomi stands 4” tall and is in mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs. It has the potter’s personal stamp ABOUT MICHAEL SIMON : Michael Simon studied under Warren MacKenzie at the University of Minnesota . From MacKenzie, Simon assimilated the attitude of the integrity of the pot, individual and personal in form and decoration. Simon is not a production potter; no two of his jars look the same. He intentionally makes his thrown jars off-round in shape, as well as understated with subtle nuances of form.
