Here is a 19th century Meissen/Dresden porcelain pedestal cup and saucer. It has a gilt framed oval panel with two cherubs in the clouds painted within. The cup and saucer has a pink painted stripe pattern with a green band and gilt decoration and a raised gilt doth pattern. To the center of the saucer well it has a gilt multi pointed star decoration. The foot of the cup is a slightly darker pink with a gilt rim foot with a gilt around the base of the foot and a gilt band where the pedestal meets the base of the cup. The handle is an unusual shape with gilt to the outside and a gilt line to the inside. The cup measures 3 3/8 inches high and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/8 inches high. Both pieces are marked to the base with a blue painted A R mark. Due to the quality of the cup and saucer it could be Augustus Rex but may be a Helena Wolfsohn. Please make up your own mind. CONDITION: As in picture 9 there is a 2 inch hairline crack which double backs half way back. It has two old chips to the top rim as in pictures 7 and 8 with one having a tiny nick on the inside.
