Prototype has the original paper reference tag with number and other info. This prototype model would have been used in the Tom Corbett and or Rex Mars Playsets made by MARX. All hand made and one of a kind made by Newark Die for MARX, I believe the material is Plastacine. It is all hand made and is one of a kind. the detail is amazing on this prototype for being 48mm scale These would have been used to make the production molds for mass production of the playset figures. Around the same time I acquired this Prototype set, there were other 48mm MARX prototypes selling for $300-$500.00 each. My starting price is very low for a piece of Toy History.
