A delightful small late 19th century School work sampler worked by J.Marshall while at Ipswich School Aged 10 years. Worked in a black almost deep blue thread on an open ground with a simple border pattern. the sampler has been framed in a painted oak frame with gilt wood slip between it and the glass. Frame size 7 1/2 inches 19cm. The sampler size is only 5 1/2 inches, 14 cm. Condition some age related discolouration , No damage or stitch loss.
