A rare combination of infantry handle and marine blade. This variant is is usually listed on collectors sites, but is not for sale. The blade is 32" long. It is etched on both sides. It depicts an anchor, eagle, shield, sword and first American flag with 13 stars in a circle. It also depicts baroque floral design. United States Marines is etched on both sides. Ricasso maker mark is "Wilkinson sword LTD. Made in England." The other side of ricasso has a six sided star with a circle in the middle. And a number 78473 on the spine of ricasso. The Wilkinson sword LTD starts to mark numbers on they swords after 1844, but Imports, including imported swords, were not marked with the country of origin until 1883 when it became Federal law. There is a name on the blade " James B. Reilly" The hilt is shark skin and brass wire. No scabbard. Excellent to virgin condition. Buyer must be at least 18 years old.
