In appropriately crappy store-bought clip frame.Shipped with USPS First Class.This summer, in recognition of the precarious state of the USPS, F Magazine announced an Open Call "Mail Art" Auction to Benefit the USPS by email to the F mailing list, and by a post on our Instagram. The call asked artists to send an artwork by USPS to F Magazine by the end of August. In the beginning of August, President Trump's newly appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy (who had already banned overtime for postal workers, even while the pandemic required workers to cover shifts for many others out on sick leave) began aggressively dismantling the automatic mail sorting machines in regional sorting facilities across the US. Some workers reported the machines being thrown straight into the trash. DeJoy is back in the news with a report that at his previous job he "pushed employees to donate to Republican [politicians] then reimbursed them through bonuses that were higher than usual."In response to the overt attack on the USPS, by late August, mail was flooding in. We received over 200 artworks from more than 140 artists across the United States, and a couple from Canada read more
