This exquisite 8" doll is Madame Alexander's Queen Elizabeth I, part of the "Great Women in History Collection of 1999. Her red velveteen gown has very elaborate trim. The skirt of the gown has a beautiful gold embroidered applique in front with blue rhinestones. The edge of the skirt is trimmed in brown faux fur. The bodice of the gown is trimmed in front with a floral scroll design in gold, red, yellow and black. Her red brocade puff sleeves have a gold floral design and are trimmed with white lace. The neckline is trimmed with a wide pleated collar worn by Queen Elizabeth during that period.Underneath, she is wearing white tights and red velveteen slippers. There are side bustles of pleated tulle at the hips underneath the skirt. Around her neck, she is wearing a very regal looking necklace consisting of a double, long strand of pearls trimmed with rhinestones and ending with a very large tear drop pearl pendant. A queen must have a robe and hers is of the royal color of purple taffeta attached around the neck with a purple silk ribbon. Last, but not least, is her crown, made of large faux rubies and sapphires set in gold. She will come in her Madame Alexander box and wrist tag. There was no COA.
