Mad #23 (EC 5/55) CGC 7.0 F/VF Comic Magazine – Alfred E Neuman Only the first 23 issues of Mad were comic book sized, but the magazine version has now endured for over 60 years and is still going strong, having cracked the 500 issue mark. This Mad #23 has been authenticated, encapsulated and certified as: CGC 7.0 with off-white to white pages. Overstreet 2011-12 value = $80 in VG 4.0 $120 in Fine 6.0 $320 in VF 8.0 On eBay, there are currently many Mad #23 choices: CGC 8.5 (VF+) = $443 Described as VF- = $300 (not CGC certified) CGC 7.5 (VF-) = $270 – Another one I have for sale on eBay CGC 7.0 (F/VF) = $220 – The one for sale in this auction CGC 4.0 (VG) = $225 The one for auction here is currently one of only two Mad #23s on eBay that have the safety of being encapsulated by CGC so you have no risk as to knowing what you will receive!
