This is a lot of Guardian Service cookware that I have collected over several years. There are six pieces and one lid, plus lids I used that are not marked. I got a pot from my mother-in-law many years ago and used it and others that I could find while raising my own family! These are wonderful to cook in! Guardian Service cookware dates from the 1930s. The cookware was first sold like Tupperware in home demos through the 1960s. The original glass lids are difficult to find. I found that heavy glass lids from old crock pots from the Goodwill work very well!Found this online... Guardian Service Cookware are durable cast aluminum pots with aluminum or glass lids. They are easy to identify because both the pots and the lids are marked with the Guardian Service logo: a knight's helmet. Still used and collected today. It is a testament to their quality and durability.While searching for information, I ran across an article from the April 1985 issue of Hobbies Magazine about Guardian Service. From this article I learned that Guardian Service cookware was manufactured by the Century Metal Corporation in Los Angeles, California between 1935 and 1955. From 1935-1939 the cookware was manufactured with aluminum lids, but to conserve aluminum during World War II, the lids were later made with glass.
