This is a lot of 8 1932 The American Mercury Magazines edited by H. L. Mencken which contain stories, articles, and reviews of new (1932) books and music. The magazine was very well-regarded during the time Mencken was the editor. I have taken photos of all of the Contents pages. Articles by well known writers include "Centaur in Brass" by William Faulkner in the February 1932 issue, a story by F. Scott Fitzgerald-- "Crazy Sunday" and a poem by Edgar Lee Masters in the October 1932 issue. Please see all photos.Issue included are February, March, June, August, September, October, November and December 1932.The magazines are in good condition with some expected age-related wear mostly on the covers. Most of the issues have very good inside pages with occasional light soil on some introductory pages, small margin tears and bent corners. The covers are all a bit oversized for the inside pages so they have consistent edge bends, tears, wear and some spots and light soil as well. December 1932 rates only "acceptable" with a fountain pen ink blotch/spill starting on the back cover and continuing in the lower margins of the pages in the back half of the magazine. Overall the magazines are holding together very well.
