Selling a nice collection of 24 programs from the Kentucky Derby. All are in excellent condition with no markings, rips, wrinkled pages or blemishes. You will receive one each from: 1968, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975, 1977-1988, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2003 (signed by Funny Cide's owners), 2005. Also included is a 1981 Spring Meet program for Oaks Day. The collector provided this information. You will see the two horses missing in the insert in last photo. These came from a person who worked at Churchill and he preserved them beautifully:Wednesday, May 2, 1981Churchill Downs takes entries for the 107 th Kentucky Derby. Twenty-two horses are entered and according to Churchill Downs policy two horses were eliminated due to lack of earnings, Flying Nashua and Mythical Ruler. Churchill Downs starts printing the green Derby insert that will be put into the program on both Oaks and Derby Day.Thursday, May 3, 1981The owners of Flying Nashua and Mythical Ruler take Churchill to court and obtain a restraining order that prevented Churchill from eliminating their horses. Why? Churchill’s policy was never in writing, especially on the stakes nomination form.Friday, may 4, 1981Lynn Stone, President of Churchill orders the printing of the green program inserts for Oaks and Derby be stopped; the Oaks programs already printed are to be destroyed and
