This sale is for a Lot of 1939 Creighton Springdale PA Sports, Band, News Clippings. They came from a local estate. Some are laminated in plastic. All are cleanand odor free. Some are from the Tarentum News Dispatch, The Valley Daily News and others do not have the name of the paper with the clipping. A quick review of the lot indicates most items are related to football. Two Original Athletic Association certificates are included in the sale: 1936 & 1934. There are loose clippings that feature news stories including a story with pictures of a 14 and 16 year old who ran away to the World’s Fair and then were arrested by Mt. Lebanon PA police. There is a sad story of a mother who died of “fright” after seeing her son injured in a game. There are other articles that report her collapse was due to a stroke. There are death notices for players who died in military service as well as a collection of birth, engagement and wedding announcements.
