Five volumes, uniformly bound in full brown calf, raised gilt bands, gilt compartments, two maroon morocco leather spine labels with gilt title, decorative embossed dentils. Vol. I: 532 pp; Vol. II: 571 pp; Vol. III: 565 pp; Vol. IV: 559 pp; Vol. V: 551 pp. First Crocker edition, each volume with engraved frontispiece, plus the fold-out map of Scotland and the Hebrides and the fold-out facsimile of the Round Robin addressed to Samuel Johnson; Condition: Vol. I front board and spine separated from binding; Vols I, IV and V have marred areas on spine; Vol. V front board detached but present, part of end paper missing; few corners slightly bumped; some foxing and toning. No further condition report is available on this lot. It is sold "as is.
