Here's a brief video which shows the animated LED patterns (please note: this device also has three 'sound to light' patterns, which are not shown in this short video - another video to follow soon!).... This is NOT a guitar pickup ..but is actually a mock pickup intended for an empty/unused/unwanted pickup position (for example, many guitarists make little use of their middle pickup, so this device would be a great replacement to attain visual impact instead OR many guitarists own/use numerous instruments ...each with its own dedicated purpose ...this could go on say one instrument just to give the audience a surprise for a couple of numbers etc.) The outer cover is Black (a white or cream cover is available too) with six bright LEDs built in ...the LEDs can be either used 'Sound to Light' (where the LED brightness relates to/tracks your string strength) or in animating mode. There are several LED 'patterns' to choose from as follows... 1. Sound-to-Light 'Normal' ...all LEDS light up together, with the LED brightness being related to your string/strum strength, LEDs fade smoothly. 2. Sound to Light 'Fast' ...as above but LED then extinguish very quickly - therefore this pattern suits percussive/choppy rhythm guitar well (eg if you 'chug/chop' in sync with your drummer's bass drum & you get visual lights on/off in time) 3. Sound-to_Light ...a VU/Bargraph meter effect (the harder you pluck/strum the strings, the more LEDs light up in sequence one after the other all the way up (just like on a mixing desk) 4. ALL LEDS ON .... permanently on, useful for dark stages to shed a bit of light on your proceedings (e.g. to assist seeing your amp/footpedal setting onstage etc) 6. Knight Rider! ...say no more! 7. Random LED .... rapid flashing of any of the 6 leds randomly (surprisingly effective!) 8. 'Scanner' ....animated pattern. The device is very simple install, just two battery wires to connect .... with one small shielded cable to wire going to your guitar's output jack socket. (for the sound to light based patterns) NOTE : no drilling of your guitar is necessary because all the required switching is built into the device itself. There is one onboard switch to select your preferred 'pattern' ...this same switch activates/deactivates the unit. When the device is activated it recalls the last pattern uses, which means it's very fast to toggle your favourite pattern on/off. All the associated circuitry is built into the pickup enclosure, therefore no space needed in your guitar cavity for a circuit board. You just need to find space in your guitar for a battery - most guitars can squeeze in a 9V battery somewhere or other! I can also fit this device into your guitar for you - just send the guitar to me to me via courier (or body only) ...I install the device & send it back to you (if you wish to do this, please contact me for further details/costs etc) If you want LEDs on your guitar, but don't want to give up a pickup, then I make a similar circuit that drives up to TWELVE LEDs and has the same patterns as above. The standalone LEDs can then be positioned/installed anywhere you wish on your guitar (eg your fretboard, scratchplate, in the guitar's body etc)...simply run the wires back from each led to the small circuitboard - job done!
