We have a monumental example of beautiful and popular Steuben glass from Corning, New York. I believe this item to have been produced while Frederick Carder was manager of the company from 1903 to 1932. I suspect because of the color and style of this vase that it was made in the 1920's; it has an Art Deco flair. The vase has the classic fleu' de les acid mark clearly visible on the bottom. I believe the shape number for this vase is in the area of 6030, I do not have a book to cite the exact shape number. The vase stands 9" tall, opening measures 4" across and base 4 3/4" diameter. I can find no chips, cracks, damage or repairs to this piece. The interior is clean of any staining or water damage from use. I will mention that the bottom does show signs of shelfware especially around the outer rim of the base. I did notice a couple very small inclusions in the glass from production and possibly a scratch or two close to the base on the outside. All in all, a fabulous piece from the renowned Steuben Glass Works.
