Around 1790, Peter Biron, Duke of Kurland, commissioned a table service from KPM. Following on from courtly rococo with its shells and tendrils, around 1770 the predominant style drew its inspiration from classical antiquity. A service in a strict classic form was the result: „Dinner service with classical edge“ It pays homage to the ideals of the classical world – austerity and symme - try merge in a timeless form.For your consideration, I am offering a rare 6 inch BREAD and BUTTER PLATE of formal Dinnerware manufactured and marked KPM ( Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur) in the Kurland Gold pattern (pattern No. 19) and made in Berlin..This Bread and Butter Plate has the white high glaze finish with the gold rim decorated band of embossed beads, swags and tassels relief border in rich gold .Light signs of previous use, ownership needs to be taken into consideration - "Like New" condition - free of any signs of use - stains, utensil marks to the surface glaze, chips or restoration..Sticker price tag on back of plate..The KPM and Blue Scepter mark on the underside of the pieces..A perfect - elegant - formal porcelain Plate to add to your collection at home!!Please Read Below.( internationally-possibly expect additional custom fees ) ...I cannot see what your shipping quote says and by bidding, you are accepting that shipping price!!!
