June 9 1923 Illustrated London News Troon Golf Course Open Championship Photos Description This is a Saturday, June 9th, 1923 Illustrated London News. I am featuring some great full page newspaper photographs of Troon Golf Course BEFORE The Open Championship was played that year and won by Arthur Havers by one stroke over the great WALTER HAGEN. It points out that 67 new bunkers were added to the golf course. Some very interesting newspaper photographs. Also look at the neat Golf Ball ad on the last page for the WHY-NOt golf ball.
