This is a beautiful limited edition recreation of the original 1875 illustrated edition of The Mysterious Island published by the Easton Press with a limitation of 400 hand number copies. The trilogy consists of "Dropped from the Clouds, Abandoned, and The Secret of the Island. The books come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, the edition number is 201/400. From the publisher, "A landmark work of Science Fiction and literature, Jules Verne's three-volume classic was never more spectacularly presented than in the rare and beautiful 1875 edition featuring 149 vintage illustrations. Now, this edition is available again in a magnificent leather bound edition - limited to 400 hand-numbered sets - featuring the original cover designs and all the incredible images. "Each book in the 3 volume set measures 7.75.5" x 5.25" and features the usual Easton Press premium leather covers, marbled end papers, gold gilding and gilting, a built in satin bookmark. The books are housed in a fabric covered custom crafted slipcase for storage and display, specially designed for this edition.
