"JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE" PSYCHEDELIC SUMMERTHING CONCERT POSTER.

Pricing & History
14x21" paper poster for proposed Sept. 18, 1969 concert that was to have taken place at The Boston Common. Following Woodstock, Jimi Hendrix was looking at a lengthy tour and his manager wanted to capitalize on the momentum Hendrix had built up following his appearance there. As to be expected, a tour was organized, contracts were signed and everything was ready to go though the tour never happened for mysterious reasons which are to this day not known. Posters were printed for this show as seen here w/great psychedelic image of a upside-down guitar w/psychedelic Afro, Hendrix's mouth and mustache topped w/three sets of multi-colored eyes, a disembodied finger playing chords on guitar's neck which has Hendrix's signature scarf tied around its neck. Text on poster includes "Jimi Hendrix Experience In Concert For The Benefit Of Summerthing." Poster has been rolled and shows lt. wear w/margin/corner tip wear and trace of aging. Upper left corner has crease and margins have a few small tears, but if framed, would make for Exc. display. Very rare, our last example (back in Jan. 2010) sold for $5,126.
