The intense coloring on this candy dish is what the Hobbs, Brockunier Co. of West Virginia produced. Pieces were not marked but it is the coloring that identifies the maker. Mr. Hobbs had previously worked for the New England Glass Co. where they also produced the intense amberina coloring but in blown glass pieces. Mr. Hobbs must have brought the color formula with him. The daisy & button pattern was a popular EAPG offering in the late 19c - 20c. This measures 4 3/4" square x 1 7/16"H. There are no cracks or chips only a little edge roughness which was not unusual for mass produced press pattern glass. The finishing process was not as refined as for blown glass.
