We make the scales from Alumilite Resin or maple burl and Resin. These are made from highly figured maple burl wood. This wood is 100% processed in house by us. They are all handmade with careful attention to detail. The scales are typically made 6 1/2" x 2 9/16" and are 1/4" to 5/16" thick. The picture of the scales shown have been lightly sprayed with water to simulate a finish.Knife Blanks/Scales as received are not intended to be a finished product. Our intent is for them to be ground down to your desired thickness sanded then polished. Please note that burl wood is known to contain inclusions/voids and irregular grain. This is common with almost all burl wood types. Please be familiar with working these woods before buying.(Be familiar with working with Burl material, may need CA glue and Dust when using, save your saw dustwhen cutting or sanding onblock and pop into any inclusions and a dab of CA glueyou may come across when working the wood, this is a common theme with Burl Material) We are also willing to do combined shipping upon request. 100% Customer satisfaction is our main priority.
