I purchased this trunk at a barn sale in Albany, NY. The barn was very old and has since been torn down. According to an antique trunk price guide (Linda Edelstein & Paul Morse), this trunk is valued somew between $700-$1,500. I will include the price guide book in this auction.This unusual trunk is from around 1813. It has the majority of its original hide, handles, and metal tacks. T are 2 different papers lining the interior. The label is in very good condition; it says 'John Stoughton Trunk & Plate Case Maker London'.It measures 30" long x 13" deep x 12" high.
