Heathcote Staffordshire Blue & White Transfer Plate "Bridge and Palms" 1820 Offered for sale is this very interesting Chinese inspired blue transferware design from Charles Heathcote & Co of Lane End, Staffordshire (1818 - 1824). It shows a palm tree over a partly covered bridge with mountains in the background. It has a very interesting border with birds and foliage. It is finely printed on a soft-paste porcelain base. It dates to circa 1820. There is no maker's mark, but other marked pieces have been found. The plate measures 10 inches wide. It weighs 13 oz (shipping weight 2 lbs). Condition: The piece is in excellent condition save for a faint rim hairline about 10 o'clock. Please see the detail photos below. Shipping is by the methods listed in the shipping calculator.
