Presented today is a HAVILAND FRANCE LIMOGES GOLD GILT OYSTER PLATE SIGNED L. COVEY , ca. 1905. The plate is a five-well plate in near-perfect condition. I had two of these with the only difference being that one is signed by the artist under the Haviland France green mark, the other (already sold) is signed and dated 1905 on the edge of the center well. It measures 9" in diameter, with all the gold present. The first photo is a true reflection of the color, a light mint sherbert green. It is elegantly simple, yet possessing a quite formal intrigue with the delicately handpainted floral decoration. It's hard enough to find one this nice in this condition.
